This course in English pronunciation for non-native speakers teaches the physical mechanics required to develop the General American accent of English. Pronunciation and the sounds of our speech are actually based on movement – the movements of our tongue, lips, throat, and vocal folds. This course focuses on teaching correct pronunciation by learning to use your vocal system like a musical instrument. When you know where and how to move everything, making the right sounds for an American accent becomes a straightforward matter of diligent and consistent practice.
Detailed diagrams, handouts, and exercises are provided throughout the course. If you need specific help with your pronunciation, you can also get private support by submitting an audio recording of yourself and we'll provide an analysis of your pronunciation along with steps for improving your accent.
Whether you want to sound like a native speaker or just be able to speak clearer to be better understood over the phone or on Zoom calls for work, this course will give you the concrete steps necessary to master American English pronunciation. Scroll down to watch free samples of the course.
